Images of Old Women

24th October,

At the exhilarating “Feminism in London Conference”,  there was a workshop called “Old Feminists/Young Feminists: getting to know each other”. I pasted on the wall over 20 postcard pictures of old women and passed round a folder of 30 portraits of Old Feminists and Peace Women.

Nobody commented on the display or the portraits. In the exchanges there was a concentration  on the past of the Old Feminists rather than their present. Invisible again and only valued for our past?
