Is this an epidemic?
“Janet Briggs of Halesowen U3A rages against the cult of looking young”. In the Spring issue of U3A News, not noted for its feminism, a page article extols the attractiveness of old age. “Are we already a society in which being elderly (or at least looking it) is frowned upon … The media is overly concerned with youth and physical perfection. This strikes me as ironic since those of us in the third age are exerting a growing amount of influence in terms of numbers and consumer voice.”
