  1. Dear Rina,
I have been reading your blog in recent months with interest as I’m a university lecturer currently working on a project about ageing women and celebrity. While your blog focusses on cinema, I nevertheless thought you and your readers might be interested in an event I’m co-organising at Birkbeck on 9 Dec – a research symposium called ‘Age Spots and Spotlights: Celebrity, Ageing and Performance’. It looks at ideas about ageing and celebrity quite broadly (including papers on television and masculinity, for example), but there will also be papers on Elizabeth Taylor, Diane Keaton and Brigitte Bardot. Members of your film group would be very welcome! You can find out more and reserve places at our website – http://agespotsandspotlights.blogspot.com/
