I am dismayed.
The BFI organises Senior matinees at the NFT. In January at the free session we are offered Break the News (see previous post), at the paying session La Belle et La Bete 1946.
Will this choice be representative of the year’s? People who cannot afford the cinemas tickets these days are as interested in the great classics as those who can. They might also enjoy seeing the blockbusters that everybody talks about. Difficult choice I know for one screening a month but one does expect some standards of the NFT.
That’d be annoying! I like classics AND blockbusters – hope I won’t have to start choosing once I’m 70!
